Inter-turn fault (ITF), a typical motor fault, results in significant variations the thermal characteristics of motor. For temperature rise (TR) experiments and field-stress field simulations an induction are carried out to reveal related ITF. First, based on actual structure cooling type motor, whole-domain simulation model was established. The reasonable equivalence calculation heat transfer boundaries were conducted during modeling process. Then, three-dimensional transient under rated load before after obtained, accuracy could be validated through comparison measured TR at several temperature-measuring points. heat-transfer law notable can presented by analyzing simulated data.
